NAR Ready as Feds Look at Smart Homes
The U.S. Department of Commerce is preparing to look at what rules, if any, are needed to govern smart homes and the so-called “Internet of Things.” The “Internet of Things” refers to the online collection of data from smart appliances and devices. NAR will be involved in the regulatory process, and it brings an important strength. Earlier this year, it launched a smart-home technology lab that works with companies to develop smart appliances that generate data that will help households make smart buyer, seller and owner decisions.  The new regulatory effort is a top story in the Voice for Real Estate news video from NAR. Also in the video: “How to Use Drones Now that Federal Commercial Drone Rules are in Effect.”
