The percent of voters in a recent survey who are concerned that a rollback of net neutrality rules will negatively affect their online experience. NAR has joined a coalition of businesses and public interest groups that will work with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), in the courts and on Capitol Hill to ensure that the Internet remains an open and level playing field, an issue critical to our business success.

The date the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) is set to expire, unless Congress takes action. . During the past month, there has been a lot of activity on Capitol Hill surrounding the reauthorization of the NFIP. NAR has been actively engaged in trying to shape various pieces of legislation in accordance with NAR’s flood insurance policy principles.

According to the 2017 Housing Pulse Survey, In the top 25 markets, more than half of respondents see the lack of affordable housing as a big problem. This is up 11 points from the 2015 Housing Pulse Survey.

Giving Legislators the Big Picture: Record-Breaking Attendance at Connecticut REALTOR® Rally
The Connecticut REALTORS® wanted to engage more members in legislative advocacy, and send a message to state legislators that they needed a more business-friendly Connecticut in which to sell. So they threw a lively rally, complete with free food trucks, right in the shadow of the state capitol building.  The legislators came to them!

North Bay Association Tackles Rent Control Ordinance in Santa Rosa, Californial
When Santa Rosa, CA, recently attempted to pass rent control and just- cause eviction legislation, the North Bay Association of REALTORS® used an Issues Mobilization Grant to protect the rights of property owners—and to encourage government to meet the demand for affordable housing.

Small Connecticut Boards Make Big Impact with Placemaking Grants
The 650-member Greater Fairfield Board of REALTORS® created an inviting 'pocket park' on an unused downtown corner. The 156-member Newtown Board of REALTORS® helped establish an attractive and productive 'Fruit Trail' of flowering trees and perennials along a recreational path. Both projects, made possible by the REALTOR® Party’s Placemaking Grants, have enhanced the towns and heightened the profile of REALTORS®.

Voice for Real Estate: Credit Scores, Flood Insurance, New CEO
The latest Voice for Real Estate news video from NAR looks at progress on flood insurance reauthorization. The video also covers a recent change by credit-reporting agencies to reduce common errors, a move which is expected to increase credit scores for 12 million consumers. It also looks at NAR’s incoming CEO, Bob Goldberg, a long-time NAR senior executive who oversees marketing and business development, among other things. Goldberg will replace retiring CEO Dale Stinton.
